Winding Road

from Under Heaven by Mark Alan Dooley

/

about

Frisky acoustic guitar base, with soaring harmony vocal chorus. Living in the aftermath of personal destruction with a positive attitude, hey, all I got is this song and a bottle of wine! Went through a nasty divorce, left with some bitter feelings. Realized I had to get over it for my own health. Instead of a sad, depressing meter I chose an upbeat vehicle to express my triumph of forgiveness and healing.

lyrics

Early in the morning you came
Down the winding road
I saw your dust rising
From my window
Oh like a tumbleweeds roll
You're coming, two lights a glowing

Chorus:
There you go
Down the winding road
Oh my oh, you're the grapes of wrath
From a dust bowl

All I got is a song and a bottle of wine
Whoa the feeling is so strong
That I started to write this song
And all these things gone wrong

You took the old Chevy
Headed out across that prairie
You're on the winding road
Where the tumbleweeds roll

Vocal Round:
