The night is gettin’ colder the fire is burnin’ low
We've grown so much older
The hours pass so slow
You have come to know me
through my veil of discontent
So maybe you can show me
how these broken pieces fit
Far over the mountains
in a city by the sea
I left my soul an’ family
I hope they wait for me
I went off chasing dragons
no weapons at my side
all I found were ghosts
that haunt my empty pride

You can fly hard an’ fast far away from life
Curiously balanced on the edge of a knife
All the vices you depend on just hoping to survive
make you shiver as you look into the mighty dragons eyes
On a bed of burnin’ coals
I lay when I was young
It heated up my soul an' put a voice into my song
I never saw the demons
all disguised in their charm
but I felt them suck the life
through the holes in both my arms
