about

Another great kompoz.com project collection!

kompoz.com/member/MarkAlanDooley

This album is a collaborative effort with artists around the world whose dedication to their craft humble and amaze me.

Retro Jazz Rock Alternative Blues Pop Space Jam in 3D, weird but cool, freaky but fluffy, not naughty, not nice. The Lo-Fi Technicolor Dream Edition.....of sweet streaming consciousness musing from guitar guru soupafreek.....Mark Alan Dooley

Sweeping landscapes of emotional harmonies to heal and hope, to bump and grind, to rock and roll. "I have to strike a balance between trying to achieve perfection and capturing the happy accident".

Mark started playing guitar at the tender age of 7 in Richmond, Kentucky after hearing the Beatles song "Revolution". He knew what he wanted to do from that point. "I had not heard distortion on a guitar till then and I loved it". The rest is a myst..I mean history!

Track Name: Just Another Day
JUST ANOTHER DAY song lyrics by Joel Sattler

Just another day
gotta make it alone
just another day
as a bag full of bones
make another play
maybe this time it works
no matter what they say
no matter how much it hurts

I was on the line
I was right almost there
thought I's doing fine
but I missed by a hair
if the game is real
you got nothing to lose
cept for what you feel
and the blues that you choose

Just another day
just another day
just another day
just another goddam day

Just another day
running fast as you can
just another day
to prove you're a man
if they knock you down
gotta get up again
and if you get to dead
maybe it isn't the end

Just another day
another chance at the ring
just another day
doesn't mean anything
just another day
find some thing to believe
just another day
with no option to leave

When I left I was ready to go
thought I knew all I needed to know
but for twenty years a cog in the machine
day after day with nothing in between

Just another day
gotta make it alone
just another day
as a bag full of bones
make another play
maybe this time it works
no matter what they say
no matter how much it hurts

Track Name: Messin with the Reaper
Messing With The Reaper - ld57

Sometimes you get a happy ending
Sometimes you just go down in flames.
At that moment, face the mirror.
There’s the guy who gets the blame.

Well, I don’t count on happy endings.
I think prayer’s a waste of breath.
I’ll face the fire of my decisions.
And some day I’ll pay that debt.

The Reaper’s standing in the shadows.
The Reaper’s waiting at the door.
I’ll keep messing with the Reaper
‘Till I can’t do it anymore.

I know a man in my position
Should bend a knee and start to pray.
It’s hard to follow that tradition
When you got one foot in the grave.

In a hole and digging deeper.
But I’ve lost my fear of death.
I’ll keep messing with the Reaper.
Till I take my final breath.

I know a man in my position
Should ante up and make amends.
It’s hard to follow that tradition
Cause I’m not much for giving in.

I’ll keep messing with the Reaper.
Track Name: River Town
RIVER TOWN song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

river town
river town

I left home
back in '68
swore I'd come back
but now it's much too late

the water is rising
against the dawn
and pretty soon
it will all be gone

river town
river town

once there were farms
surrounding the town
a main square and a statue
and happy sounds

but the Mississippi
is merciless
and wipes away
all that she has blessed

river town
river town

my neighbors were good people
went to church every Sunday
praising the Lord
but they didn't know one day

the floods would come
no matter how they prayed
and that all their prayers
would be washed away

river town
river town

a place on earth
of love and peace
but the muddy blood
it will not cease

the will of God
overwhelms us all
and in the end
we all are so small

river town
river town
Track Name: Tip of the Hat
Tip of the Hat - MAD

Feelin kinda special
considering all thats happened
between the sheets
between the lines
quite a feat so sublime
you walk away
I stare in amazement
at the figure eight

why did you end it all
what at all did you take me for
I don't even care about that
So I'll give you a tip of the hat
for all of that, for all of that

a tall order considering
all that we have given in to
what you bring
all the things you do
after all of that
you still mean the world to me

why did you end it all
what at all did you take me for
I don't even care about that
So I'll give you a tip of the hat
for all of that, for all of that

ooh the peaceful feeling
good evening all
till the sight unseen
till the storm passes
underneath the fires angel
Oh the anger all the pain
all the angles of the private scene
Track Name: Somewhere in the Past
SOMEWHERE IN THE PAST song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

I still think of you
every day
though I know that you're gone
never to return
but you know that's all right with me
cause I know
or at least I've learned

love is alive
it may fade
but it never will die
somewhere in the past
the place where we said our goodbyes
and you left
but you never cried

but I still think of you
every night
when the stars all come through
remembering my name
my name as it fell from your lips
and the taste
and all the rest of it

love is what's real
I can't help
for the way that I feel
somewhere in the past
was a girl who taught me to laugh
and to love
and that's what will last

but I still think of you
in the dawn
when the sun is so new
and face another day
like the one that went before
I come home
no one's at the door

love is the key
and the lock
is the heart that's in me
somewhere in the past
in the mirror of memory
in the glass
somewhere in the past
Track Name: Last to Leave
Last to Leave - ld57

Verse 1:
Won’t be long,
Long enough for one regret.
One last song,
Then we’ll settle up our bets.
Did you know
Heaven’s got a waiting list?
Even so
I don’t think that we’ll be missed.
Come along,
Or you’ll be the last to leave.

I think you’d better come with me
Or you’ll be the last to leave.

Verse 2:
Happiness,
The greatest work of fiction.
Who’d have guessed?
I had my suspicions.
Still we play,
Gamble on salvation.
That’s no way
To run an operation.

I think you’d better come with me
Or you’ll be the last to leave.
I think you’d better come with me
Even if you don’t believe.
I think you’d better come with me
Or you’ll be the last to leave.

Verse 3:
Cosmic plans,
How do they expect you to
Understand?
So much they’re not telling you.
We’re so small
In the greater scheme of things.
And we all
Wonder what the whole thing means.
Come along,
Or you’ll be the last to leave.

I think you’d better come with me
Or you’ll be the last to leave.

Verse 4:
They say love
Is the only thing you need.
Lift you up
With its perfect snow white wings.
I don’t know
Anyone who left the ground.
Guess it shows
Not enough to go around.

I think you’d better come with me
Or you’ll be the last to leave.
I think you’d better come with me
Even if you don’t believe.
I think you’d better come with me
Or you’ll be the last to leave.

Verse 5:
Did you know
There’s a special place in Hell
Where we go?
Anyway, it’s just as well.
Won’t be long,
Even if you don’t believe.
Come along,
Or you’ll be the last to leave.
Track Name: The Usual Suspect
The Usual Suspect

Verse 1:
Man, why am I here? I didn’t do nothin’.
So you got a dead body. You think I had somethin’
To do with it, don’t ya? That’s why I’m here,
Locked in this room, with this table and chair.
And you two punk ass, wanna-be junior detectives
Gonna pin this on me? Man, you need some perspective.
My watch is worth more than your annual salary.
I make a phone call; an hour from now I’ll be
Back on the street, before you finish your coffee.

Chorus:
Back off, man. I know what you’re doin’.
Wanna’ trick me, trip me up, yeah, you’re screwin’
With my head, to make me say I had somethin’
To do with this crime, but man, I had nothin’
To do with it this time, I’d swear on a Bible.
You think it’s a case of two “business rivals”
Fightin’ for turf, for money, survival
Of the fittest. I did this to let ‘em all know,
All the others, how far I am willin’ to go
If you get in my way. Bet you can’t prove it.
I’m glad he’s dead. But I didn’t do it.

Verse 2:
So what if I did? Hey, I ain’t saying I did this.
You got no case, ain’t no way you can pin his
Murder on me, if that’s what this is about.
Hell, maybe he went and blew his own brains out.
Yeah, pulled his own trigger, four or five times.
If you’re lookin’ for motive, man, get in line.
There’s others ‘sides me that you won’t see cryin’
Cause he turned up dead. Still, it wouldn’t be lyin’
To say all my enemies seem to end up dyin’.

Bridge:
You got a witness? Did somebody see
Me do all the things you’re blaming on me?
Man, nobody saw nothing. They never do.
They don’t say nothing ‘less I tell ‘em to.

Outro:
So if you two don’t mind, I’m gonna go,
‘Less you got somethin’ more. No? Didn’t think so.
No hard feelings, man, know what I’m sayin’?
Better luck next time. Thanks for playin’.

Track Name: I Believe
I BELIEVE song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

I
believe
in love
I know it sounds stupid
I
believe
in love
you just gotta do it
I
believe
in love
I know you can make it
I
believe
in love
you just can't fake it

nobody told you it would be like this
told you the thing that it does
how you fall into a single kiss
never the same as you was

she got you in a spin
just gotta let you in
kick you out come again
I believe
I believe
I believe
I believe I

I
believe
in love
nothing is better
I
believe
in love
just gotta letter
I
believe
in love
never been higher
I
believe
in love
ready aim fire

I know it sounds corny but it's okay
everyone knows why I feel this way
feels like I drowning inside a flood
gotta believe it's love

breaking up all the rules
just cannot keep your cool
can't help but be a fool
I believe
I believe
I believe
I believe I
